HOOI HOW YUAN

How Yuan was discovered to be an autistic child (Asperger Syndrome) at the age of 3. He attended school until he was 12 and thereafter was home-schooled till age of 20.

His fascination for paintings grew ever since he was introduced to art at the age of 5. How Yuan has shown a great passion for wildlife since young as the main source of his interest is Animal Planet. He chose to further develop his fondness by putting it down on canvas since it’s the only way he can portray his interest in animals.

How Yuan is constantly exposed to his favorite animal, the elephant. He often visits the zoo with his family and when in bookstores, he is usually found deeply engrossed with books about animals. His paintings imbue a sense of affection towards nature. Moreover, the artworks are always decorated with flowers which was inspired by the beautiful landscapes of Malaysia.
